Hello everyone!
We are extremely happy to officially release the first Stratus original gamemode – Payload!
For those unfamiliar with the gamemode, payload revolves around getting a minecart from point A to point B. For initial release, there will be two types of games: Attack/Defend (A/D) and Assault (Team vs Team).
In Attack/Defend, one team has to escort the minecart from one side to the other while the other team has to stop it.
In Assault, the payload spawns in the middle of the map and both teams have to try and escort it to the opposite ends of the track.
For the start, we are going to be introducing two Payload servers. You will be able to play the current rotations of Payload maps. Beta will remain online and still play regular gamemodes. Depending on the demand for the new gamemode, we will open more servers if needed.
Skyline
Skyline is an Assault map set in a modern city where two teams of 12 players fight to push the cart towards the enemy team and blow up a package of explosives.
Cerlise
Cerlise is an Assault map set in a war zone where teams fight for control of the enemy teams land.
Dao
Dao is an Assault map set in grassy fields where two teams of 8 battle it out for control over the enemy teams land.
Foundry
Foundry is an Assault map set in a canyon where teams battle for control of the mines to steal enemy teams resources.
Hoi
Hoi is an Attack/Defend map set in a sand village where the attacking team is attempting to capture the defender teams buildings.

We are going to be prepairing XML Documentation for Payload soon to allow community mapmakers to create their own maps. We will also be working on adding more maps to the servers over the next couple of days. As this is a newly released gamemode, there will be some tweaks to the maps that will need to be made. Please leave feedback on how maps play and what you think we can do to improve them.
