Hello Stratus Community!

A year ago, several of our community members came together to ask the age-old question, "should we start a Minecraft server?" After lots of hard work and dedication, we stand here today with a community of 30k gamers and growing! We want to take a moment to thank you for making Stratus what is it today, and let you know couldn't have done it without the community.

In celebration of Stratus's birthday, we want to share with you some big announcements about the future of our community and exciting updates to look forward to in 2018!

1. We're coming out of Beta

We know this has been overdue! We're ready to make the big switch and officially rename Beta to Mixed.

2. Revamp premium ranks and perks

We listened to what you said, and we're going to add tons of new perks to our premium packages. Anything and everything from joining the same team as your friend to changing your nickname. We have lots to say on this topic, so stay tuned for an update before spring!

3. Better staff teams and more fun

Our top priority in the new year is to empower our staff teams to make better decisions. That means more permissions, privileges, and most importantly, accountability to get stuff done! We're going to put the fun back in moderating by hosting weekly events for staff with prizes! And if you're into developing, you'll get career building advice with resumes and potential internships!

4. We're officially a company

Before the new year, I filed the papers to incorporate Stratus Network as a company. Now we can do cool things like subscription packages, Microsoft and Discord partnerships, and... taxes!

5. Reorganizing our staff structure

The administrators are now going to be leading efforts in a specific area of our community. This will help bring clarity to what we do and let you know who to go to if you have any questions regarding particular issues.

Each department will manage their own staff and make sure that goals and objectives are being met. If you would like to join one of these departments, another round of applications will be announced soon!
