:books: Moderation on private servers

Hello everyone!

This post is to clear up the existing confusion on how we deal with the reports on non-public servers.

Private Servers

On these servers, which players can buy from the shop, moderators can only punish for hacking, as described in the Staff Code of Conduct, §B11/3. All other types of infractions (e.g. chat) are escalated for the senior moderation staff to handle, to ensure consistency. This consistency is needed because we are much more lenient with chat infractions when compared to public servers. For example, we tend not to punish for minor instances of rudeness and hackusations; we understand that you've paid money for you server, and most of the time you're playing on it with friends. Server owners can kick players from their server if they want to, allowing them to deal with disruptive people. If this happens on a server you don't own, just don't play with those players. However, for more serious rule breaking, including but not limited to harassment and threats, we punish as usual. RULES DO APPLY ON PRIVATE SERVERS.

Note: These restrictions do not apply when hosting ranked matches, since we consider those to be public matches.

Tournament Servers

All punishments on tournament servers, including both Official servers and /server Event when it's hosting scrims or testing tournament maps, are handled by the event staff. Since these matches are public, we don't have any policy to be more lenient.

Ranked Servers

The Ranked matches on official ranked servers are considered public matches, so they are handled as usual by moderators. This also applies to the hosting of ranked matches in private servers, as stated above.
