Announcing Stratus Bowl

We are excited to announce our next mini event: Stratus Bowl! This will be our first tournament using the 5v5 Flag Football gamemode.

Team Information

Teams must have a minimum of 6 players registered on their roster with a maximum of 8 and must field a minimum of 4 out of 5 players in official matches.

Gamemode

Flag Football is a new gamemode to Stratus, where two teams of 5 fight in an arena. There is one flag which spawns in the middle of the map, and both teams must bring it to their goal. Each match lasts eight minutes, the team with the most captures wins.

Teams are expected to be ready for their matches 15 minutes before their start time, and will not be given more than 5 minutes to get ready with the /events ready command after being told to do so. Officials will not delay a match regardless of whether a team is ready or not.

Format

The tournament will take place on the weekend of May 30th - May 31st, and will start at 11:00 am EDT. The format of the tournament will be finalized after we know the exact number of registered teams. This information will be released in the coming days after registration closes.

Registration

To register your team for this event, you must have a Google and Discord account. Please use this Google form to register your team, and join our tournament discord which will be used for communications.

If you do not have a team and wish to solo-register, please do so here; similarly to our last tournament, we be setting up Wildcard Teams and will do our best to organize players together appropriately!

Maps

Teams will face each other in Flag Football maps. We are currently in the process of creating several Flag Football maps, so we will post the finalized Map Pool next week.

Discord

Discord is used for voice communication during the event. Each team is given their own voice and text channels, which you will use to communicate with your teammates, as well as with our referee staff.

Make sure your entire team has joined the Events Discord.

Scrimmages

Scrimmages can be hosted on /server Event1 or Event2. You can look for a scrim by typing in the #looking-for-scrim channel in our Events Discord.

Rules

All teams must have at least one player who is fluent in English. Furthermore, teams must stay in their Discord channel while playing; other voice communication services are not allowed. Keep in mind that by being on a roster for a team in the tournament, you are agreeing to be subject to our tournament rules. Links to the ruleset can be found below:
