We are excited to announce our next mini event: Stratus Bowl III! This will be our third tournament using the 5v5 Flag Football gamemode.
Teams must have a minimum of 6 players registered on their roster with a maximum of 8 and must field a minimum of 4 out of 5 players in official matches.
Flag Football is a unique PGM gamemode, pioneered into competitive by Stratus two years ago, where two teams of 5 fight in a long arena. There is one flag which spawns in the middle of the map, and both teams must capture it in their goal on their left side. Each match lasts 8 minutes, the team with the most captures wins.
Teams are expected to be ready for their matches 15 minutes before their start time, and will not be given more than 5 minutes to get ready. Officials will not delay a match regardless of whether a team is ready or not.
The tournament will take place on the weekend of April 2nd - April 3rd, and will start at 11:30am EDT. The format of the tournament will be finalized after we know the exact number of registered teams. This information will be released in the coming days after registration closes.
Registration opens in 7 days on March 15th, but we will have both team registration (on our forums) as well as Wild Card registration for solo sign-ups. (on a Google form)
The map pool can be viewed in #map-pool of the Stratus Events Discord. It is not finalized yet, but there will be a lot of maps that were already used in Stratus Bowl 1 & 2.
Discord is used for voice communication during the event. Each team is given their own voice and text channels, which you will use to communicate with your teammates, as well as with our referee staff.
Make sure your entire team has joined the Events Discord.
Scrimmages can be hosted by Scrim Hosts and certain staff members on /server Event1, Event2, or Event3. You can ping these hosts in #looking-for-host. Or, you can purchase a Personal Server from our shop, and host them yourself there. You can look for a scrim opponent by typing in the #looking-for-scrim channel in our Events Discord.
All teams must have at least one player who is fluent in English. Furthermore, teams must stay in their Discord channel while playing; other voice communication services are not allowed. Keep in mind that by being on a roster for a team in the tournament, you are agreeing to be subject to our tournament rules. Links to the ruleset can be found below, in English, Spanish, and French:
Like previous tournaments, we will use screensharing as a way to detect cheaters, and we’ll also be using 3rd party tools. By registering for this tournament, you also agree to being screenshared by us using our tools if requested. Please consult our full length screenshare policy at stratus.network/ss. This tournament will also utilize our anti-cheat, this will be used to better help us find cheaters.
Tournament winners will receive a unique Tournament Winner rank in our Events Discord.
